Lockyer Valley Regional Council has formally appointed Nick Hauser as its new Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment taking effect from Tuesday, 6 October. The decision followed a resolution of Council at its Ordinary Meeting, and marks the third Queensland council to announce a CEO appointment this week.
Mayor Cr Tanya Milligan said Mr Hauser brings more than 20 years of local government experience and a strong understanding of regional communities to the role, citing his background across strategic planning, governance, disaster management, service delivery and organisational leadership. He has been with Toowoomba Regional Council for more than 17 years, including the past 12 and half years as General Manager Environment and Community Services.
Mr Hauser grew up in Helidon and Gatton and has multi-generational family ties to the Lockyer Valley region.
Mr Hauser said he was honoured to accept the role and looked forward to working with councillors, staff and the community, noting the importance of Council services to everyday life, from road maintenance and waste management to disaster preparedness.
The appointment follows the resignation of former CEO Scott Greensill in May. Mayor Cr Milligan said Council had remained stable through the leadership transition and was looking to the future with confidence.
Earlier this week, Central Highlands Regional Council and Western Downs Regional Council also announced new CEO appointments.
