Shire of Northam Chief Executive Officer Debbie Terelinck has resigned, citing family commitments and a desire to pursue other interests, the Shire announced on Monday.
Ms Terelinck joined the Shire of Northam as CEO in October 2023, having previously held executive leadership roles with the City of Subiaco and City of Wanneroo. During her tenure, she oversaw an organisational restructure in 2024 intended to better align operations with the Council Plan, alongside a number of community and economic development projects.
Shire President Chris Antonio thanked Ms Terelinck for her leadership, saying it is with great regret that Council have accepted the resignation.
No departure date has been set. The Shire says Ms Terelinck has indicated she is willing to remain in the role until mid-December if required to support a smooth transition.
Recruitment for a permanent replacement is expected to begin next month, with the Shire committing to public updates as the process progresses.
