Mansfield Shire CEO reappointed for four more years

Date: 12th June 2026

Mansfield Shire Council has renewed the contract of Chief Executive Officer Kirsten Alexander for a further four years – extending her tenure which began in 2022.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie, who chairs council’s CEO Employment Matters Committee, said the reappointment reflected confidence in Ms Alexander’s leadership and the organisation’s direction. He pointed to a strengthened organisational culture, improved community satisfaction results, and a renewed focus on accountability and governance over her first term.

Key achievements during Ms Alexander’s initial term included completion of the Heavy Vehicle Alternate Route, construction of the Mansfield Heritage Museum, and successful funding bids for the Station Precinct Redevelopment ($14.4 million) and the IMPACT Route ($11.3 million).

Looking ahead, Ms Alexander said her priorities included continuing to strengthen the relationship between council and community as Mansfield Shire navigates growth, with current advocacy efforts including the Mansfield Emergency Services Precinct, the Lakins Road Industrial Precinct, and upgrades to the Bonnie Doon Recreation Reserve.
