The City of Kingston has extended the contract of Chief Executive Officer Peter Bean for a further four years, with an additional one-year option. Council endorsed the extension at its ordinary meeting on Monday night.
Mr Bean has led the organisation since 2021. Mayor Georgina Oxley said he had earned the respect of councillors, staff and the wider community over that period.
“Peter has been an outstanding CEO for Kingston. He brings a calm, steady head, a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to our community,” Mayor Oxley said.
Mayor Oxley credited Mr Bean’s leadership during a period of financial pressure, noting that the organisation had remained focused on service delivery and community outcomes throughout.
Mr Bean said he was honoured to continue in the role.
“I am very proud to continue as CEO and to keep working alongside Council to deliver for our community,” he said.
