The City of Palmerston has appointed its Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Nadine Nilon, as interim Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of Andrew Walsh.
No details have been provided about the departure of Mr Walsh, who joined the city in March 2025 from West Arnhem Regional Council.
Council said the interim appointment would maintain continuity of leadership while it undertakes a recruitment process for a permanent CEO.
Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell thanked Mr Walsh for his contribution over the past eighteen months, and said Ms Nilon’s local government experience and understanding of the organisation made her well placed to lead through the transition period.
Council said it remains focused on delivering services, progressing key projects and implementing strategic priorities for the Palmerston community. Information on the recruitment process for a permanent CEO will be provided in due course.
