Alina Behan Appointed as York CEO

The Shire of York has officially announced the appointment of Alina Behan as its new Chief Executive Officer, concluding a comprehensive recruitment process led by the Council.

Shire President Cr Chris Gibbs said Alina’s existing ties and deep familiarity with the municipality are major assets for the region’s upcoming initiatives. Cr Gibbs highlighted her strong leadership capabilities and extensive organisational knowledge. He said her clear understanding of York’s distinct community priorities and opportunities will allow the Council and administration to seamlessly build upon momentum already established during her tenure at the Shire.

Expressing enthusiasm for the permanent role, Behan stated that she looks forward to collaborating closely with elected members, staff, and local residents. She praised York as a wonderful community and noted that her focus will remain on capitalising on active projects and continuing to deliver positive, sustainable outcomes for the historic Western Australian shire.
